There is an ancient expression among sea-going peoples:
๐บ ๐บ ๐บ ๐บ ๐บ ๐บ ๐บ
โIf you want to learn to sleep, go to church. If you want to learn to pray, go to sea.โ
Please join Breadtree + friends this November 7-16 at Doorways, in the Battenkill / Dionondehowa River Valley (2671 NY-29, Greenwich NY),
where, hot on the heels of a joyous & successful spring planting that put 2000 seedling chestnut trees in the ground,
we will be praying with our feet and planting another ~2000+ baby chestnuts on 25 acres.
We welcome you to join in planting and caring for these thousands of trees. When the time comes, they may care for you too.
Paid positions have been filled! Many volunteers will be welcome, and we will offer more paid opportunities in the future โ so if youโre keen to learn more and get involved in this work, please rev up your golden slippers and lick this envelope. If you have already signed up for a paid position, you donโt need to do anything โ we are expecting you.
Camping will be available at multiple locations, on-site and nearby. If you are eager to join, but either camping outside or volunteering are major barriers to access, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate.
This will be a festive gathering, an intentional learning experience, and a big opportunity to be good ancestors. Please feel free to share this invitation with friends who you trust to show up and participate in good faith. We will look forward to seeing you soon!
