SPRING/SUMMER 2022

In April-May 2022, Breadtree and friends established 2000 seedling chestnuts on 24 acres of silage-corn stubble at Doorways, a 116-acre site we are restoring in the Battenkill valley. Work was completed in 8 days. For more information about this site, see here.

We built about 200 ft2 of air-prune nursery beds to germinate 200 lbs. of seed; we will plant the seedlings at Doorways this fall.

In early summer, we gathered to weed and mulch the 20-acre, four-year-old chestnut silvopasture at Otter Creek.
